The VFA newsletter is published 4 times each year. Issues vary in length and are focused mainly on genealogy, including pedigrees, in-depth studies, family history, queries, summaries of primary and secondary sources, obituaries, and other items of interest submitted by the membership. Only members of the Vance Family Association receive newsletters on an ongoing basis, although back issues are available for purchase to non-members. Click here for information on how to become a VFA member. Members and non-members alike are welcome to search the VFA Newsletters Master Table of Contents (should open in a new window), which lists the titles of articles and features in all newsletters going back to 1985. Both members and non-members are also welcome to search the VFA Newsletter Master Surname Index (should open in a new window) for articles that pertain to their Vance ancestor. Members who register to view our archives may view back issues of our newsletter. Personal copies of these back issues may be purchased and are available to both members and non-members. To order paper copies of any back issues, click here to download and print the attached online order form and mail it to us with your payment in the appropriate amount made out to the Vance Family Association. An example of one of our newsletters from 1993 can be viewed here VFANL V09_3(Jul 1993)sr For the historical newsletters, please click on “Archives” at the top of your screen. As of 31 Dec 2015, all 123 issues of the newsletters have been posted in our on-line archives. The viewing screen there can be enlarged by left clicking on the small arrow icon in the box in the upper right hand corner of the document viewer. You can enlarge or shrink the image using the small magnifying glass icons. This greatly improves the readability of the newsletters and indexes.
